“The Prestige Awards recognise small and medium sized businesses that have proven to be the best in their market over the past 12 months. All shortlisted companies put forward in the Prestige Awards are asked to support their nomination with evidence of their work, positive feedback from their clients, information on previous accreditation and recognition, as well as highlighting the most outstanding parts of their business.
The judging panel base their decisions upon areas such as service excellence, quality of the product/service provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, as well as consistency in performance. The winners selected are those who can best demonstrate their strengths in these areas.”
COVID-19 Update from Miss Josie
2nd January 2021
Whilst we are in Tier 4 we will run our full timetable over Zoom. We will return to face to face lessons as soon as we are given the green light from the government. Thank you all for your continued support. Stay safe. Love Miss Josie x
The enthusiastic teaching staff nurture creativity and artistic development in each pupil, offering a warm and positive environment for every dancer to learn and grow at their own pace, ensuring they reach their full potential. All classes are personally taught by Josie Clarke; assisted by her mother Alison Noble. Both Josie and Alison are fully qualified with the BATD, IDTA, Acrobatic Arts and Alixa Flexibility, enabling them to teach dancers from pre-school to professional level. Josie also recently qualified with the ADTA and is PBT Certified. All the JCADA team have undergone safeguarding training, have an enhanced DBS disclosure and hold a Level 3 qualification in Paediatric First Aid.
Classes We Offer
To ensure all dancers enjoy a variety of styles and excel as well rounded performers they are required to attend classes incorporating Ballet, Tap, Modern and Flexibility. Additional, optional classes include Acrobatic Arts (from age 3) and Belly Dancing (from age 6). All classes are designed to inspire dancers, encourage strong technique and develop artistry and performance.
JCADA fees offer exceptional value for money. Classes are arranged to run as closely to the school terms as possible (36 weeks per year), however fees are divided into 12 monthly membership payments to spread the cost. Please click for our fees policy.
Please note school uniform is purchased through the school’s online store (http://jca.mydancestore.co.uk) and is compulsory at all classes to promote a sense of belonging and equality. At JCADA students are actively encouraged to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance. For health and safety reasons hair should be fully swept back into a classically dressed bun or French plait; jewellery must also be kept to a minimum.
Promotional wear including personalised rhinestone t-shirts, hoodies, onesies, shorts and leggings can be ordered from www.rockthedragon.co.uk/jcada
Twinkle Toes & Twinklers
The foremost priority in these classes is having fun and building confidence. Little dancers explore steps in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Freestyle working towards the BATD Starlite Awards - an introductory range of exams designed for the younger performer. Three classes are available, Twinkle Toes 1 for pre-school children ages 3-4, Twinkle Toes 2 for ages 4-5, and Twinklers for ages 5-6.
Pre-Primary and Primary Classes
From Twinklers, dancers progress to Pre Primary and then Primary; these are combination classes including Ballet, Tap, and Modern. Dancers learn rhythms and develop musicality to prepare for their first graded exams.
Grade 1 - Intermediate
As dancers progress through the school, they are required to attend a minimum of twice weekly; one class incorporating Tap and Modern, the other, Ballet and Flexibility training. Dancers are encouraged to develop artistry and performance skills whilst continuing to build their skills and technique.
An exciting opportunity for your dancer to develop their strength, flexibility, balancing, limbering and tumbling skills, following the world renowned Acrobatic Arts programme.
A fun class developing graceful transitions and isolated movements of the body. Dances are choreographed to authentic Egyptian music. Three classes are available: Junior Intermediate and Senior. All dancers work towards IDTA Belly Dancing Medals and performance pieces for displays and events.
Classes for Adults
Our Glitz class provides fun and friendly tuition in a relaxed environment. Ballet, Modern, Belly Dance, Flexibility, Freestyle and Tap are covered in this 1 hour 30 minute lesson for experienced adults age 21+. Many Glitz dancers enjoy participating in shows, displays and competitions, however this is completely optional.
JCADA has a 100% pass rate and is renowned for its outstanding examination results. Graded exams are held frequently throughout the academic year with BATD, IDTA and Acrobatic Arts, providing official accreditation and evidence of progression and attainment. Examinations motivate dancers to be the best they can be, giving them a chance to shine and be proud of their achievements.
The studio aims to produce a full school production every 18 months, packed with sparkle and glitz, creating many magical memories. JCADA dancers are frequently asked to provide displays, both locally and further afield. Regular parent days are also scheduled to allow dancers to showcase their talents to their families. Dancers are invited to participate in competition and festival work based on their attendance, merit and attitude.

Fundraising for New Studio
Please help make JCADA's dream a reality
JCADA are rapidly outgrowing their current studio and therefore fundraising for a new studio. Many classes are capped with waiting lists and there are also several duplicated classes due to their being insufficient space to train all dancers at the same level, at the same time.
Miss Josie is seeking larger premises which could offer an increased studio area, a healthy cafe, and the opportunity to deliver vocal tuition and music lessons.
A new studio would be a positive asset to the town, nurturing and celebrating the performing arts for Bostonians from all backgrounds.
