Boston’s Multi Award Wining Dance Studio

2 x Winner “Central England Dance School of the Year”
“Dance School of the Year’ Silver Winner 2021

The Prestige Awards recognise small and medium sized businesses that have proven to be the best in their market over the past 12 months.  All shortlisted companies put forward in the Prestige Awards are asked to support their nomination with evidence of their work, positive feedback from their clients, information on previous accreditation and recognition, as well as highlighting the most outstanding parts of their business.  The judging panel base their decisions upon areas such as service excellence, quality of the product/service provided, innovative practices, value, ethical or sustainable methods of working, as well as consistency in performance. The winners selected are those who can best demonstrate their strengths in these areas.

The Dance School of the Year Awards was founded in 2013 by Anne Walker MBE in order to celebrate the achievements of dance teachers everywhere. This annual award is now open to all all dance teachers wherever they teach and is designed to encourage teachers to realise  what amazing achievements they have made within their school during the last 12 months. 2021 saw the highest number of entries, with dance schools entering across the UK and Europe as well as Canada, Ireland, USA, Bahrain, Malaysia, Finland, India and Australia.

COVID-19 Update from Miss Josie

We have loved dancing at our temporary venue, The Gliderdrome; however, from September 2021 all lessons will resume in the JCADA studio. Social distancing within classes will cease however we will continue to clean frequently touched surfaces (e.g barres, gym mats) and ensure the studio is well ventilated at all times. Due to the very limited space in our waiting rooms, we kindly request these areas remain for dancers only. Our one way system will remain in place with dancers being dropped off at the rear of the building (younger children should be supervised whilst waiting outside - I will greet them 5 minutes before class starts); older dancers may wait without supervision in the rear waiting room. All dancers should be collected from the front door please. Thank you for your continued support and co-operation in this matter. Best wishes, Miss Josie

The Teachers

The enthusiastic teaching staff nurture creativity and artistic development in each pupil, offering a warm and positive environment for every dancer to learn and grow at their own pace.  Every student receives professional training from Josie Clarke, who personally teaches all classes. Alison Noble (Josie’s mother) supports with teaching many of the school’s younger dancers.

Both Josie and Alison are fully qualified with the BATD, IDTA, Acrobatic Arts and Alixa Flexibility; enabling them to teach dancers from pre-school to professional level. Josie also recently qualified as an Acrobatic Arts examiner and is a certified teacher with both the ADTA and PBT.

Jamie Clarke (Josie’s husband) provides administrative support, assisting with uniform orders, fee payments and fundraising. Jamie is also a licensed chaperone and regularly helps at shows, displays and events.

All the JCADA team have undergone safeguarding training, have an enhanced DBS disclosure and hold a Level 3 qualification in Paediatric First Aid.

Many older dancers choose to become studio assistants in the younger children’s classes;  volunteering their time to demonstrate exercises, techniques and routines which gives them an insight into dance teaching and helps to develop their leadership skills. JCADA studio assistants are wonderful, valued, role models and a credit to the school.

Classes We Offer

To ensure all dancers enjoy a variety of styles and excel as well rounded performers they are required to attend classes incorporating Ballet, Tap, Modern and Flexibility. Additional, optional classes include Acrobatic Arts (from age 3) and Belly Dancing (from age 6).  All classes are designed to inspire dancers, encourage strong technique and develop artistry and performance.

Please click for our Spring 2022 timetable.  An enrolment form and participation waiver must be completed for all dancers prior to participating in any classes.

School uniform is purchased through the school’s online store ( and is compulsory at all classes to promote a sense of belonging and equality. At JCADA students are actively encouraged to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance. For health and safety reasons hair should be fully swept back into a classically dressed bun or French plait; jewellery must also be kept to a minimum.

Promotional wear including personalised  rhinestone t-shirts, hoodies, onesies, shorts and leggings can be ordered from

Twinkle Toes & Twinklers

Little dancers explore steps in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Freestyle working towards the BATD Starlite Awards - an introductory range of exams designed for the younger performer. Two classes are available, Twinkle Toes for children aged 3-5 and Twinklers for ages 4-6.

Performance Opportunities

The studio aims to produce a full school production every 18 months, packed with sparkle and glitz, creating many magical memories. JCADA dancers are frequently asked to provide displays, both locally and further afield.  Most recently they have performed alongside Rollason Entertainment and BOS Musical Theatre Society. Currently 17 dancers are performing in the professional production of “Dick Whittington and his Wonderful Cat’ at Blackfriars Theatre. Professional Development

Miss Josie continues to develop her knowledge and skills enabling JCADA dancers to thrive and continually progress.   In 2019  she became one of five teachers in the UK to qualify with the newly formed Acro Dance Teachers Association (ADTA), in addition to completing Acrobatic Arts Module 2 certification, allowing her to enter students for exams from Primary Level up to Pre-Professional 3. In 2020, JCADA became an official Acropad centre and Miss Josie qualified as a PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique) teacher. Most recently, Miss Josie was invited to become an examiner for Acrobatic Arts and has now successfully completed her training.

Annabel (parent)

The level of professionalism that you aspire our children to dance like is second to none yet is achieved by such a supportive and caring ethos. You go out of your way to not only get the best out of every individual, but you nurture their mental health in a way I have not seen anywhere else. Many dance schools focus on winning competitions. You focus on developing the whole dancer, building on feedback from both exams and competitions, and show an excellent understanding of child development.
